Dr. Friedberg’s veterinary career began after graduating from Western University of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. His love for animal health and animal welfare is evident in the care he gives each and every one of your pets. After veterinary school, Dr. Friedberg completed an internship at Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles. When not taking care of your pet's teeth, he is hard at work in general practice, at animal rescue centers or performing veterinary acupuncture.
Dr. Renee Himes is a graduate of Tuskegee University in Alabama She’s lived in California most of her life. After working in several small animal hospitals in Southern California she opened Ladera Pet Clinic in Inglewood. There she provided compassionate and expert medical and surgical treatment to the furry, four-legged members of her community for more than thirty years.
After leaving private practice, Dr. Himes joined our company. She gets pleasure from playing the harp, traveling, skiing, and playing golf. Her daughter and two grandsons are her inspiration.
Dr. Leslie Moore is a graduate of UC Davis School of Vet Medicine. A Los Angeles native, Dr. Moore previously worked in private clinical practice for over 20 years at Mar Vista Animal Medical Center in West L.A. before joining the SS team. In her spare time, Dr. Moore writes science fiction and fantasy and has four published novels to date. She also loves to travel, and is an accomplished sewist and belly dancer. She lives in L.A. with her husband, Aaron.
Field Manager / Hygienist
Laura began her career with Smile Specialist assisting our veterinarians and hygienists. Since then, she has trained to become a hygienist in our Los Angeles region. Recently, Laura was promoted as field manager and lead hygienist. Laura loves the fast-paced environment of being a hygienist and the variety of tasks that must be performed with each pet. She enjoys making a positive difference in the lives of not only the animals, but their owners as well. Outside of work, Laura enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Camping and traveling are the activities she loves. She shares her home with her dog, “Apollo '' and her Domestic Shorthair Tabby, “Mushu”.
Senior Trainer / Hygienist
Amanda began her career with Smile Specialist as a hygienist. Since then, she has become our senior trainer and lead hygienist. She came to Smile Specialist after getting her start in veterinary hospitals beginning in 2003 performing anesthetic dental cleanings.
Educating clients on preventive care while gently treating their pets makes her excited to do what she does after all these years. Working with animals has always been a passion of hers. She believes we need to be the voice of those that can't speak for themselves. Amanda spends her free time hiking, reading and traveling with her children (both 2 and 4 legged).
Asst.Field Manager / Hygienist
This is Clarissa, she has been with SS for 8 years. She’s been a hygienist for the past 6 yrs. Prior to working with us, she had worked in Vet Med with both large and small animals. She went to school at Pierce college for veterinary medicine and business management, and studied oral health at the Veterinary Dental Academy.
In her spare time she trains horses and working dogs. She loves all animals big and small, domestic and exotic.
Hygienist / Assistant
Tiffany began her career as an assistant to the veterinarian and hygienist. Since then, she has become a hygienist..
Although she has a background in psychology and customer service, being a lifelong animal lover, Tiffany was delighted to make the transition into taking care of animals.
She enjoys spending her free time snuggling with her furry cat daughter, traveling/hiking with her fiancé, taking photos, listening to music, teaching herself guitar and knitting/crocheting.
Before working with Smile Specialist, Destiny worked in dog daycare/boarding facilities for the past 5 years. She joined the Smile Specialist team as an assistant to the veterinarians and hygienists. Destiny takes pride in her work and loves being with the animals. She makes sure your pets feel safe, comfortable and loved at all times.
April has always dreamed of working with animals. She turned that dream into reality when she joined the Smile Specialist team as an assistant to the veterinarians and hygienists. Her passion for animals begins with the pet and parent relationship. She’s a compassionate person who's great with people and her pride pours out by enjoying the reunion of animals with their parents. She takes great pride in informing parents of the importance of teeth cleaning maintenance. She loves spending time with her daughter and her beloved fur baby, Raven. April spends her time doing adventurous activities like paddle boarding, running, cycling, rollerblading, swimming, while including her daughter and Raven! .
